Getting started

Connect your Yoco account

Make a Yoco API key so your sales and menu come through by themselves.

Honger reads your sales and menu from Yoco with an API key. You make the key yourself in Yoco's Developer Console. It only needs permission to read, so it can't take payments or move money.

Make the key

  1. On a computer, open the Yoco Developer Console and sign in with the same login you use for the Yoco Business Portal.
  2. Create a new API key. Give it a name you'll recognise, like "Honger".
  3. Tick these two scopes and nothing else: business/orders:read and business/catalogue:read.
  4. Copy the key. Yoco only shows it once, so paste it into Honger straight away.

Add it to Honger

  1. In Honger, go to Settings › Yoco.
  2. Paste the key and save. Honger checks it with Yoco before saving it.
  3. Your menu syncs in straight away. Check it under Orders › Menu.

If it doesn't work

  • "Yoco didn't accept this key": the key was copied incompletely, or it was deleted in Yoco. Make a new one.
  • "The key works but is missing the scope…": edit the key in Yoco (or make a new one) and tick the scope it names.
  • Menu shows "Other" for every category: the catalogue scope is missing. Add business/catalogue:read.
Your key is encrypted before it's stored. If you ever think it leaked, delete it in Yoco, make a new one and use Replace key in Honger.
